About the department

A core engineering discipline that plays a central role in the creation of a materialistic world was introduced in the year 2002. A highly qualified, dedicated and competent team of teaching and technical staff members provides excellent practical training through combined the traditional and futuristic laboratories to inculcate technological skills among the pursuing students. The department is continuously striving to achieve excellence in education, academic and industry-oriented research as well as consultancy work with service to the society. The department offers a thorough and well decorated academic structure for theoretical understanding and their practical applications. The department maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. The department efficiently covers all the traditional core areas of statics, dynamics, vibrations, structural analysis, materials, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer, along with manufacturing technologies etc. The department has state of the art research facilities to support academic programs and research. Funding for research an approx. 60 Lakhs during the last five years from govt. funding agencies help us to maintain and modernize our research infrastructure. The research funding and industrial interactions of the department is managed by the Research and Development Centre. Technologies for transfer and licensing, are managed by Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (CIPR) established in the institute.
