About department

Mathematics is the Backbone of Engineering studies of all disciplines. The logical thinking is analyzing a problem, the methods used in solving such a problem, and the concentration needed in such a process, are the three qualities that are a MUST in an Engineering student.

Although a supporting department, the Department of Mathematics in G.M.I.T, is trying to train the students is acquiring such qualities in addition to preparing them for university examinations.

The department has well experienced teachers, and we are proud to say that we are ahead of our neighbors, accordingly, looking at the results of the last 5 years, and we are planning and doing our best to improve upon it.


To develop technological competent, socially responsible and humane engineers capable of working in multi-cultural environment.


To create an academic ambiance which will develop quality Engineers who are technically competent, socially and ethically responsible and perform better in multicultural environment.

Department activities (Basic Science)

Orientation programme was conducted for all the freshers (1st sem students) on 1st Aug 2016.

National Science Day and ISTE Student Chapter was conducted on 29th Feb 2016.

On account of National Science day celebration, technical talk (branch wise) was conducted for all the 1st year students.

"Feel Employable" programme was conducted for 1st year students during 1st to 6th Oct 2015.

Swami Vivekananda Chicago Speech was organized for 1st year students in association with Ramakrishna Ashram, Harihara on 11th Sep 2015.
